Ordinary Fabrics Introduction And Selection.
Cotton, is the general name of all kinds of cotton textiles. It is used for making fashion, casual wear, underwear and shirts. Advantages are keeping warm, soft and with good hygroscopicity and breathability. Disadvantages are easy to shrink and winkle, the appearance is not stiff and smooth and It must be ironed at times when wearing.
Linen is a fabric made of hemp, flax, ramie, jute, sisal, abaca etc. It is generally used to make casual wear, work wear, is also more common in summer wear. It has the advantages of high strength, good thermal conductivity, moisture absorption, air permeability. The disadvantage is that it is not very comfortable, and its appearance is rough and stiff.
Silk, like cotton, it has many varieties and different personalities. It can be used to make all kinds of clothes, especially for women’s clothing. It has the advantages of thin, soft, smooth, fit, breathable, colorful, rich luster, elegant, comfortable to wear. Its disadvantages are easy to crease, not strong enough and fast fading.
Chemical fiber is a textile made from polymer compounds. Usually it can be divided into two categories: artificial fiber and synthetic fiber. Their common advantage is the bright color, soft texture, drape neat, smooth and comfortable. Their disadvantages are poor wear resistance, heat resistance, hygroscopicity and air permeability. They are easy to deform when heated and easy to generate static electricity.
Blended fabric is a fabric made of natural fibers and chemical fibers mixed in a certain proportion, and can be used to make all kinds of clothing. The advantage is to combine the advantages of cotton, linen, silk, wool and chemical fiber, and to avoid their shortcomings as far as possible, and is relatively low in value then it is very popular.
